A time when seatbelts weren’t a thing, playing ‘corners’ was a car game and placing the bassinet on the back seat was perfectly safe. The Holden EH belonged to my Gran. My Mum has fond memories of this car and the journeys it took, often not very far. Local trips to the river with a car load of cousins, the neighbours kids and the family dog. With toes in the river sand cut watermelon on the tail gate was a treat. Hours spent amongst the willow trees in Wellington, NSW.

After my Gran retired the car to the shed she poked around in her little Datsun. As kids I recall trips to the School Shop bundled into the Dato with cousins to buy a packet of Fads (who remembers fads!). We often had more kids in the car than we did seats.

Hydrangeas in the EH because Gran grew these in her garden. I can’t so hanging them on my wall brings me a lot of joy.
